As Scitex’s capabilities expand, we are excited to welcome Debbie Cathro to our community as a Project Consultant. This is an exciting development for our team, a new position which provides a dedicated recruitment consultant focused purely on one single client with a wide remit across their business, enabling significant recruitment workstreams to be managed effectively, leveraging a specialist. It will further help us provide the very best recruitment and workforce solutions and support possible, in a specialist approach.
We are lucky to have Debbie join our team. She brings her extensive project management skills across multiple projects in the Industry Training Organisation and Travel and Tourism sectors, coupled with her human resource development and adult education and training experience.
As Deb joined our team, we asked her a few questions to get to know her better:
What’s your favourite part of Lake Taupo?
The idyllic southern end of Lake Taupo holds a special place in my heart, specifically Omori/Kuratau due to the many family holidays that were spent here, leading me to make the permanent move from Wellington. Its great in the Summer sipping a wine with good friends on the deck watching the boats on the lake, or even braving the water and taking a refreshing dip.
What has been a highlight of your career to date?
After raising my children, I retrained in the tourism industry, winning ‘Student of the Year’ which led me on an exciting path, working my way from being Campus Manager of a tourism college, to overseeing the training products and programmes during the successful amalgamation of three industry training organisations into one.
Why was joining Scitex exciting?
I was ready for a career change that could encompass my skill set and allow me to liaise with a wide range of people and connect them with opportunities to further their professional growth.
What are your goals for this year?
To further my development as a recruiter working within the Scitex team.
What do you like to do outside of work?
When I am not at work, you can find me mountain biking some of the fantastic cycleways that NZ has to offer; continuing the completion of my new house build and dog sitting Austin, my son’s pampered pooch.
What’s something about you that would surprise others?
I am a lead foot who loves to explore the open road on my motorbike. One minute you’ll find me deep in the trade department of hardware stores buying building materials and the next minute scouring vineyards for the perfect wine to add to my collection.
We are so happy to have Debbie join our community. You’re welcome to connect with Debbie today! e: email@example.com
