We are seeking a Technical Sales Representative based in Auckland who is looking to leverage their technical knowledge in a client-facing role, to help drive our client’s growth and innovation in their Fireproofing Group.

About the Role:
Reporting to the National Business Development Manager, this is a dynamic role for a motivated individual who thrives on challenge, variety, and personal development. Working closely with the company’s fireproofing technical team and in-house fire lab engineers, you’ll play a key role in driving growth and expanding their market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with specifiers, contractors, and industry stakeholders
  • Increase sales by actively seeking new business opportunities nationally and growing existing accounts
  • Drive market development for customised passive fire protection applications
  • Deliver technical presentations to industry forums, engineers, specifiers, and key stakeholders
  • Provide exceptional customer service and effective feedback
  • Maintain customer files, reports, and ensure compliance with budgets and company values
  • Collaborate with the technical team to contribute to product management and technical documentation.

Key Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of proven technical experience in engineering, chemical sales, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of fire protection standards and methods
  • Willingness to learn and excel in the structural steel fire protection market
  • Excellent oral and written communication with a customer-centric approach
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and organise effectively with a proactive mindset
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, and results-driven
  • Understanding of pricing, margins, and market dynamics
  • Innovative and detail-oriented with accuracy in figures and reports
  • Computer literate with strong keyboard skills
  • A neat, professional appearance
  • Current NZ driver’s licence and the ability to travel as required.
