A leading player in the industrial chemical sector, offering solutions to various markets including food, industrial and aerospace. We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Technical Sales Representative to join their dynamic sales team based in the North Island.

This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional who is passionate about building relationships, driving business development, and delivering exceptional customer value, to take their next step. 

Role Overview

As a Technical Sales Representative, you will play a key role in driving the growth of the customer base and achieving sales targets. You will be responsible for selling and promoting products to existing and prospective customers, managing relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. Your success will directly contribute to the company’s goals, with a strong focus on new business development (60-70% of the role) and maintaining key accounts.

This role has arisen due to an internal promotion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Identify new customers and opportunities, actively building a pipeline and securing new business.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintain and grow existing customer accounts, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and engagement.
  • Sales & Reporting: Meet or exceed sales and gross profit budgets as set by the company. Track and report on sales performance, including customer data, gains, losses, and prospects using Salesforce.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activity and industry trends, reporting insights to management.
  • Customer Focus: Understand customer needs, provide tailored solutions, and add value at every opportunity.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the broader sales team, supporting colleagues and contributing to team growth objectives.
  • Compliance & Professionalism: Adhere to company policies, standards, and regulations, and represent the company positively at all times.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven sales experience, ideally within an industrial chemical setting. The number of years (of experience) is flexible, what’s more important is the successes you’ve had and your skillset.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working with sales targets and achieving business goals.
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM software, is ideal but not mandatory
  • Solid understanding of the food, industrial and Aerospace sectors would be nice.

We need someone who is driven, results-oriented and has a genuine passion for building customer relationships and solving problems. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work autonomously, be highly organised and demonstrate persistence in driving business development. You should also be comfortable using technology to track and manage your sales process.

This role is based remotely, from home, and can be done from anywhere within the North Island (the client base of focus is across the NI).
