Service Technician Engineer

  • Great training and development, in house and external courses overseas
  • Open minded on your background, your attitude and curiosity is the key
  • 3x of these roles available, across Victoria, Queensland, NSW

Are you a hands-on technician who thrives on solving complex technical challenges?

This is a rare opportunity to join a high growth, innovation-driven organisation operating at the forefront of medical manufacturing and diagnostic technology.

We’re seeking proactive Service Technicians to join a national engineering team supporting the maintenance and performance of mission-critical production and laboratory equipment across multiple sites.

Due to rapid business expansion, we have 3x Service Technician Engineer roles currently available, one in each of NSW (at Macquarie University), VIC (in Bundoora) and QLD (in Woolloongabba).

About the Role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for keeping high-tech infrastructure operating reliably—ensuring equipment such as cyclotrons, synthesisers, hot cells and QC instruments perform at their best.

You’ll work both independently and as part of a collaborative technical team, ensuring uptime and compliance across all operational sites (each role has two main sites to focus on, but will contribute to other sites too).

There are some fantastic training and development opportunities on offer and a great team to be part of!

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on high-precision technical systems
  • Troubleshoot faults and provide hands-on technical support to production and QC teams
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using a digital CMMS
  • Participate in a national on-call roster, responding to after-hours equipment issues
  • Support engineering initiatives and promote continuous improvement
  • Travel between facilities as required

Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates who ideally possess the following, but we are open minded – the right attitude and strong curiosity are really critical:

  • Trade qualification or diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering would be nice
  • Experience maintaining industrial, laboratory or medical instrumentation
  • Strong technical problem-solving and fault-finding ability
  • An understanding of WHS and technical safety protocols would be great
  • Self-starter with excellent organisational and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Full driver’s license, car and passport

Why it’s an exciting opportunity?

  • Career Development: This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience (1-3 years most likely) to grow in a great engineering environment
  • Training: Comprehensive training and the chance to specialise in a highly specialised field. Both inhouse and international externally led training is included.
  • Impactful Work: Join a company with a strong commitment to improving patient health and making a difference in the lives of many.
