Quality Assurance Officer

We are currently seeking a Quality assurance / control officer for our client based in East Tamaki. The successful candidate should have two years experience in a food quality role including internal auditing experience, with external auditing experience an advantage. 

While this role will initially offer a 50/50 split between quality control and quality assurance while you learn the basic processes, this opportunity will shift towards being predominantly quality assurance as you help with internal auditing processes and preparation for the upcoming BRC audit 

• Assist Quality Officers with any chemical and sensory testing as required
• Shelf life testing, aged stock management and non conforming stock management
• GMP/Pre-start/Post-production inspection as well as cleaning inspections and swabbing
• Correction action management and root cause analysis
• Internal Auditing and BRC audit preparation
• Improvements to sensory assessment program
• Adherence to all health and safety requirements for site
• Any other QC or QA tasks or projects as required by Quality Manager

Skills & Experience

• Tertiary Qualification in Food Science / Food Technology or similar
• Broad experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance within food manufacturing
• Leadership potential and ability to work across all levels of production
• Able to work well autonomously
