As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of this plant by addressing equipment breakdowns and conducting necessary repairs. You will work closely with the Shift Manager and collaborate with external contractors to maintain plant services and support the manufacturing team. Your role is essential in upholding the standards in quality, food safety, and hygiene.

Duties:

  • Conduct timely repairs to minimize equipment downtime and coordinate with external contractors as needed.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of plant services to support the manufacturing team effectively.
  • Identify and implement changes to preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Contribute to the design and installation of new equipment.
  • Monitor engineering stores stock to maintain appropriate levels and minimize downtime.

Skills and Experience:

  • Trade qualification in engineering/mechanical/electrical discipline (essential) or tertiary qualification in engineering (desirable).
  • Experience in maintenance engineering, ideally within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of HACCP principles and quality guidelines.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving ability with the capacity to prioritize workloads effectively.
