Senior Quality Officer

We’re recruiting on behalf of a New Zealand food manufacturing business known for its commitment to quality, care, and doing things the right way. With exciting growth underway, this is a great opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive team in a newly created Senior QA Officer role.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you’ll play a key role in day-to-day food safety, compliance, and documentation, supporting a safe and well-run facility. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the maintenance of food safety and compliance systems (HACCP, FCP, allergen management)
  • Assist with internal audits, verification, and traceability activities
  • Maintain QA documentation, product specs and records (including PIFs)
  • Support site readiness for external audits
  • Help embed a strong quality culture on the production floor
  • Monitor and support allergen controls (including gluten-free areas)
  • Work alongside external QA consultants and internal stakeholders as needed

About You:

  • 2 plus years experience in QA or compliance within a food manufacturing environment is essential (sorry this is not a grad position).
  • Working knowledge of HACCP and New Zealand food safety standards (e.g. FCP, MPI requirements)
  • Good attention to detail and willingness to get involved on the floor
  • A proactive and positive communicator, keen to build strong working relationships
  • Someone who enjoys working in a hands-on, team-focused environment
