On behalf of our client, Scitex is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Commercial Assistant to join their Commercial team, in Auckland.
Role Overview
The Commercial Assistant will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and the Commercial team to drive business growth, support key accounts.
This role will allow you to develop skills in sales, account management and new business development. It is ideal for someone with technical knowledge in food technology or applications, ready to transition into a customer-facing role.
The roles key responsibilities
1. New Business Development
- Assist the COO in identifying new business opportunities and growing existing accounts.
- Work closely with Account Managers and the Commercial team on market development, account mapping and opportunity validation.
- Support the development and launch of new products in the market.
2. Sales and Account Management
- Support the management and growth of key accounts, providing assistance with pricing, customer requests and product development.
- Collaborate with the technical and product management teams to provide customers with tailored solutions.
- Ensure the timely execution of pricing reviews and manage stock-related issues as they arise.
- Assist with forecasting, reporting and managing customer feedback.
3. Technical Support & Reporting
- Provide technical assistance in product application and solutions in collaboration with the Technical and Product Management teams.
- Attend relevant workshops and training to deepen your technical expertise and sales capabilities.
- Maintain CRM systems, tracking customer interactions and reporting on business performance.
4. Internal and External Reporting
- Provide regular updates on sales performance, new business development and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
What we are looking for
Essential:
- A background in food technology, applications, or science-related fields.
- Strong business acumen and commercial mindset.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. A great collaborator.
- A can-do attitude with a passion for problem-solving and innovation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Desirable:
- Previous experience or interest in sales or account management.
- Technical knowledge of food ingredients and applications is a plus.
