About the Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for managing the distribution, storage, and transportation of goods to depots, stakeholders, and customers across New Zealand, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. The position involves overseeing daily operations at the Tauriko facility, leading a multi-skilled team to achieve In-Full and On-Time results, maintaining compliance with legislative changes, including managing depots and paint shop activities, staff supervision, order management, and site compliance.
You will need to be a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves team player who isn’t afraid to dive into the thick of things and tackle challenges head-on. Close collaboration with the Customer Service team and Production Manager will be essential for smooth operations, along with ensuring efficient export processes. Fostering a positive work environment through effective communication, safety practices, and quality results while adhering to safe working practices is essential. Occasional travel to various locations to oversee operations, meet with stakeholders, or ensure compliance across different sites may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage distribution and storage of goods within New Zealand and exports, overseeing and managing depots and paint shops
- Lead and oversee warehouse and distribution staff with a focus on strong people leadership
- Handle the back-end process of all export orders
- Ensure efficient and professional service delivery to customers
- Ensure timely despatch and receipt of goods
- Oversee inventory management and stock accuracy
- Ensure tinting processes are carried out as agreed and to standard
- Promote health and safety practices
Key Requirements:
- 5+ years of proven leadership experience in a warehouse/DC environment
- A qualification in life and a can-do attitude!
- Experienced in Dangerous Goods compliance
- Act as a motivating force, energizing the team with a people-first approach and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment
- Expertise in export documentation
- Flexibility with strong problem-solving skills
- ‘F’ Endorsed Forklift License & full NZ Driver’s license
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail (Greentree Software is a plus!)
- Ability to lift up to 20 kg with ease
