As Austin joined our team, we asked him a few questions to get to know him better:
Why are you excited to join Scitex?
I see this opportunity as a way to contribute to an exciting/forward-thinking/fast-moving organisation. Scitex has a great vision and core values in place with an exceptional team with a broad variety of skills over various sectors. With my extensive experience over several industries, qualifications and skillset, I am confident I can enable further success for Scitex and our clients.
What is your favourite part about recruitment? Why do you love it?
I love the variety recruitment has to offer. No two days are the same in recruitment. One day you could be out meeting clients, the next you could be at an assessment centre advising candidates how to write a CV. The next day you could be securing a candidates dream job! I find working in recruitment extremely rewarding and brings me a lot of satisfaction. Also it’s not just your day-to-day duties that vary. The job market is always changing and presenting new challenges, so how you do your job one month may totally change the next. Staying innovative and testing out new tactics is a must if you want to stay ahead of the game – which means you’ll never get bored!
What do you like to do outside of work?
I’m very passionate about sports – both as a spectator and a participant. I’ve played football, gaelic football and basketball at a high level back home in Ireland.
What is something that would surprise people?
I was selected to travel to the West Coast of America to play basketball for 2 months. During the trip I was mentored by former NBA players and coaches. I played 12 different teams in Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York.
