Warehouse Supervisor

Our client is a leading distributor of an international and well-respected range of pumps servicing both the commercial and domestic markets throughout New Zealand.  Through organic growth, our client is expanding their team and this position will fulfil an important focus in their business where you will take responsibility for managing inwards goods and their warehouse. While no direct reports this is a hands-on role with lots of variation.

This is a stunning and rare opportunity for a person who is seeking a ‘special role’ that is well supported by a friendly team with an amazing culture.  Our client needs a person who has excellent inwards goods/warehouse experience along with a technical aptitude for understanding pumps/engineering etc. 

Key Responsibilities of the role include:
  • Unpacking containers as they arrive from overseas each 2-3 weeks and placing stock in the appropriate place.
  • Managing inventory in and out of the warehouse including packing, strapping and despatching pumps to sites in NZ.
  • Ensure all orders despatched are correctly labelled and delivery is as required by the customer
  • Maintain accurate record keeping i.e. stock on hand versus computer and investigate any variances
  • Restock shelves, ensuring stock levels are within recommended maximum and minimum range and manage aged or damaged stock  
To be considered for this role you will possess the following skills and attributes:
  • Experience working in a Warehouse, along with a current Fork Truck Licence and MPI accredited.
  • You will enjoy an admin content to a role where you will be responsible for end to end processes.
  • Possess excellent computer skills and have a keen ‘eye for detail’
  • Be proactive in your approach and ask questions when necessary to ensure the best possible level of customer service is provided
  • Have fantastic team orientation and a ‘can-do’ attitude where you enjoy continuing learning new skills.
  • Quick to pick up technical knowledge and highly accurate with great attention to detail.
  • Meticulous working habits with excellent record/document maintenance.
  • Able to work with a high degree of autonomy utilising your good common sense.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both written and oral with the ability to relate to diverse personalities and demonstrate enthusiasm at on-site service.
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Well presented, physically fit and a clean full NZ driver licence.
  • Eligible to work and live in New Zealand.
