Manufacturing a broad range of products for the Bakery, Foodservice, Industrial food processing, Dairy and Retail markets, our client offers unique strengths to the International Food industry and has grown to become a leading refiner and processor of Fats and Food Oils.

About the Role
Reporting to the Quality Manager, at this progressive on-site Laboratory; you will be responsible for the analysis and testing of raw materials, in process and finished product samples. Working a 5 week rotating shift pattern over three shifts, you will get to work closely with a wide variety of personnel across the business from senior technical experts to the sales team so your ability to communicate well with a wide range of personalities is vital.
  
Whilst our ideal candidate will possess a science background with Gas Chromatography experience, the real key to your success in this role will be your thirst for continued professional development, your communication and team work skills and your willingness to quickly adapt and respond to change as this respected industry leader undertakes some challenging but super exciting projects in 2022.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • The timely, accurate analysis and evaluation of all samples daily
  • Ensuring that all testing is performed according to documented procedures
  • The calibration and maintenance of analytical test equipment
  • Ensuring that the laboratory and production area are equipped with reagents and consumables required for testing
  • Assistance with internal audits
  • Investigation of new test methods as required
  • Assisting senior laboratory staff with general laboratory work as required

  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
  • The ability to use initiative to raise issues and possible solutions
  • Previous Laboratory experience
  • The ability to interpret and communicate results
  • The ability to follow documented procedures for all testing
  • The flexibility to work shift work
  • High levels of integrity, adaptability, diligence and ownership
