Are you an experienced HSNO Compliance Supervisor with exceptional communication and organisational skills looking for your next challenge? Join our client, a New Zealand owned and operated, world-class leader in aerosol, chemical, and coating manufacturing, based in scenic Rotorua, Bay of Plenty.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Engineering & Compliance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing compliance projects, maintaining dossier records, and ensuring alignment with key regulations for this compliance managed manufacturer of ‘niche market’ coatings, chemicals and aerosol products.

Help drive safety excellence at their Major Hazard Facility, ensuring risks are minimized and compliance is at the forefront of operations. If you’re passionate about HSNO regulations and safety management, this is the role for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage compliance projects, ensuring alignment with relevant HSNO regulations and industry standards
  • Maintain and update the Dossier library, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date
  • Assist in managing MHF Health and Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policy
  • Identify and address Health & Safety/Compliance deficiencies, prioritizing remedial actions
  • Support environmental monitoring initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement in safety and compliance measures
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risks, identify solutions, and enhance operational safety
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear, concise, and sensitive guidance on compliance matters
  • Ensure accurate, detailed documentation is maintained, with a high level of precision and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in managing change and meeting the evolving needs of the business
  • Work independently with strong time management, organisational, and project management skills to meet deadlines and compliance objectives
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional teams and external clients to ensure seamless compliance
  • Maintain confidentiality and perform well under pressure, ensuring the smooth operation of HSNO and safety-related tasks

Key Requirements:

  • Proven HSNO project and compliance experience 
  • A tertiary qualification in chemical/mechanical engineering
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Hazardous Substances Regulations, Major Hazard Facilities and Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
  • Environmental monitoring experience would be advantageous
  • Strong verbal and written communication to collaborate with stakeholders, with exceptional attention to detail, time management and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills to resolve safety issues, with the flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, especially Excel
  • Experience using Vault and CIMS for efficient document control, compliance tracking, and data management
