Engineering Assistant-Part time

Established nearly 50 years ago, our client is a leading supplier of consumer goods, packaging solutions for well-known brands throughout New Zealand and across the globe. Based in Penrose, the business boasts innovative solutions to both manufacture and recycle packaging materials for its FMCG and industrial clients.

To support operations, we are currently seeking a trade assistant who possess a good understanding of mechanical processes to provide extra support for the engineering team including:

  • Assisting Engineering team to change filters, dismantle machinery and complete basic maintenance on machinery and plant.
  • Clean machinery and parts using buffing machine or using a wire brushes.
  • Completing delivery’s in a class one truck and achieve daily targets and KPI’s.
  • General cleaning around machinery to remove debris.
  • Accurately complete all related documentation.
  • Use counterbalance forklift license to move engineering equipment and assist with lifting a cage.

Candidates will have a full license and ability to operate a class one truck with a manual transmission and ideally a related mechanical background and updated Counterbalance license with minimum if 2 years experience. Problem solving, mechanical aptitude an understanding of wider manufacturing process is highly regarded.

This role will initially start as a part time position for 3 days a week (Monday , Tuesday and Wednesday. Hours of work start from 7.00am- 15:30
